Neither meeting was open to the press. Zelenskyy stated they discussed Patriot interceptor production licenses and the need to reinvigorate diplomacy, while Trump expressed irritation that Netanyahu publicly disclosed intelligence about Iranian nuclear sites. The White House press secretary called both meetings 'positive and productive.' The meetings come amid Trump's previous promises to end the Ukraine war quickly and his own initiation of airstrikes on Iran five months ago. Zelenskyy has sought to leverage the Iran conflict by linking Russia to Iran, while Trump has expressed trust in Putin regarding allegations of Russian help to Iran targeting US bases.
