Incoming news
Wire items come from the news pipeline and keep their source, category, publish time, and short English summary when available. The feed is sorted for freshness and supports category filtering.
Automation and AI
WorldAttention uses a mixed automated pipeline. Source reporting is normalized and may be translated or condensed by machine translation services or language models, depending on the configured route.
- Source analysis: language models can extract English titles, summaries, categories, entities and perspective signals.
- Story grouping: semantic vectors plus deterministic similarity, time and entity rules group related reports; a language model does not make the grouping decision by itself.
- Event metadata and cross-source analysis: language models can generate titles, summaries, consensus, disagreements and blind spots after the source group is established.
- Story publication: the public Story page is a deterministic projection of stored content and evidence records.
- Daily Briefing: AI can draft bounded-evidence item summaries, followed by automatic structure, duplication and evidence-binding checks.
Human review boundary
Automated quality, evidence and freshness gates are not human editorial review. Wire-related pages are labeled as automated and do not claim a named reviewer. A page displays “Reviewed by” only when a named human reviewer and review time are recorded for that page. Public editorial policy and requests for correction, appeal or retraction are overseen by Mia (小麦).
Stories
A Story can be a cluster of related news items that form one event, or a single news item that has not been clustered into a larger event. Story pages prefer English titles, show a factual summary and body, and keep recent sources visible.
Evidence and editorial summaries
What happened, Why it matters, and Daily Briefing summaries are published only with bound evidence snapshots. Missing or stale analysis is labeled instead of being replaced with an improvised claim. These are automated gates, not proof of human review. Source counts never stand in for a political-bias or factuality rating.
People, interests and Topics
- Topics are editorial hubs designed to remain useful beyond the day they are published.
- People, organizations, places and interests connect Stories, Briefings, the Wire and account-backed follows.
- Images and summaries appear only when published source data is available; live feeds fail visibly instead of falling back to samples.
