US Warns Russia May Target Baltics After Ukraine War Ends

A senior US State Department official warned that Russia is likely to reposition its military forces toward NATO’s eastern flank once the war in Ukraine concludes, significantly increasing threats to the Baltic states. Christopher Smith, deputy assistant secretary for European and Eurasian affairs, testified before a House Foreign Affairs subcommittee that Moscow aims to rebalance its combat power to create dilemmas for NATO.
