Iran Prepares for Renewed War as Military Assets Remain Intact, ISW Warns

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) assesses that Iran is actively preparing for renewed conflict with the United States and Israel. This conclusion follows reports indicating that Tehran retains approximately 70% of its pre-war missile stockpiles and has restored operational access to most missile sites near the Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has conducted military drills and repositioned assets to protect them from potential strikes, while simultaneously strengthening internal security measures to suppress domestic unrest. Peace negotiations remain stalled, with Iran demanding recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz as a precondition for further talks. US President Donald Trump described the current ceasefire as fragile, noting a minimal chance of its survival. Both sides have refused to make concessions, raising fears of a broader regional war that could severely impact global trade and Gulf state economies. The IRGC is also consolidating political influence under Commander Ahmad Vahidi amidst the ongoing tensions.
