ConflictAn air raid alert was issued in Kyiv early Thursday due to the threat of ballistic weapons use, just hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned of an impending 'massive' Russian air attack. An AFP correspondent reported several explosions in the Ukrainian capital. The military administration urged residents to seek shelter immediately. Zelenskyy had written on X that the Russians had been preparing a massive attack for several days and that there was a high probability it would be carried out that night. He also called on the US and Western allies to deliver Patriot air defense missiles to defend against ballistic missiles. On Tuesday, Zelenskyy spoke with US President Donald Trump about the Patriot system.
