Air India extends suspension of Tel Aviv-Delhi flights until end of September

Amid renewed hostilities and growing security concerns in West Asia, Air India on Wednesday (July 22, 2026) announced it is extending the suspension of its operations on the Tel Aviv-Delhi route until the end of September.

The airline has been continuously extending its suspension on this route for several months due to the prevailing security situation in the region.

Renewed Security Concerns

The latest announcement comes amid heightened security tensions over the past 10 days, as the United States and Iran escalated military activity. American forces have targeted bridges, water desalination plants, and electrical facilities in Iran, while Tehran has struck U.S. bases in allied countries across West Asia.

A senior Air India executive overseeing the airline's Israel operations told PTI that flights have been further suspended "till September end due to security concerns."

Industry-Wide Impact

Several other major international carriers have also adopted a "wait and watch" policy as tensions persist in the region. Beyond Israeli carriers such as El Al, IsraAir, Arkia, and Air Haifa, only a few international airlines continue to operate, creating significant challenges for travelers seeking to fly abroad for work, vacation, or family visits.
