TechMeta Platforms is reportedly in early-stage discussions to lease computing capacity to AI firm Anthropic in a potential deal valued at up to $10 billion over two years. The proposal, initiated by Anthropic in June, would involve monthly payments for access to Meta's infrastructure, with both parties retaining exit options. The talks signal Meta's potential expansion beyond advertising into cloud computing, aligning it with firms like CoreWeave. Shares of Meta fell over 2% following the report. Separately, Meta recently discontinued its Muse Image AI tool after privacy criticism, while Anthropic faced and later resolved US export restrictions on its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models.
