Trump Administration Launches Project Prometheus with Selected Nuclear Energy Stocks
The Trump Administration, through the Department of Energy's Genesis Mission, has unveiled Project Prometheus, a $60 million AI-driven nuclear development initiative. Major partners include Nvidia, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft, alongside nuclear companies X-Energy, Oklo, and Standard Nuclear. The project involves four national laboratories and several research universities. Notably, NuScale Power was not selected. The initiative aims to accelerate licensing, manufacturing, and operation of advanced nuclear reactors, including small modular reactors (SMRs) and TRISO fuel technologies.
