US partners with Ukrainian Magura drone maker to produce naval drones domestically
The UK-based Ukrainian company UFORCE, manufacturer of the combat-proven Magura naval drone, has partnered with US boatbuilder RECONCRAFT to produce uncrewed surface vessels in the United States. The partnership aims to combine Ukrainian battlefield innovation with American manufacturing to deliver autonomous maritime capabilities to the US military. This follows the US military's first-ever combat use of naval drones earlier this month, when three Saronic Corsair unmanned vessels struck an Iranian port. Magura drones have been highly effective for Ukraine, damaging or destroying over a dozen Russian warships in the Black Sea. The collaboration reflects a broader trend of Western defense companies teaming with Ukrainian firms to leverage real-world combat experience. RECONCRAFT already holds US Navy contracts for unmanned vessels, and the partnership is expected to accelerate delivery of proven systems to American warfighters.
