Iran Accuses UAE of Active Partnership in War Amid Reports of Secret Israeli Visits

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi labeled the United Arab Emirates an 'active partner in war' against Iran during the BRICS summit in New Delhi. He accused Abu Dhabi of allowing its territory to be used for attacks and colluding with Israel, describing such actions as unforgivable. These remarks align with statements from other Iranian officials, including former Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, who claimed Emirati drones were used in attacks on Iran. Tensions have escalated following reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Mossad Chief David Barnea secretly visited the UAE to coordinate military efforts during recent conflicts. While the UAE denied these allegations, asserting its relations with Israel remain within the public framework of the Abraham Accords, Israeli officials insisted the visits occurred and were historic. Additionally, media reports suggest the UAE covertly targeted Iranian oil facilities like Lavan Island and Asaluyeh port. The delivery of Israel’s Iron Dome system to the UAE has further fueled Iranian accusations of expanding security cooperation between Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi, marking a significant deterioration in Tehran-Abu Dhabi relations.
