Following the missile incursion into Polish airspace recorded in the previous digest, military standoffs over the Baltic Sea have continued. Between July 31 and August 4, Polish F-16 fighter jets intercepted a Russian Il-20 electronic reconnaissance aircraft over international waters on three separate occasions. The Russian aircraft flew without a flight plan and with its transponder off, but did not violate Polish airspace. Polish Defense Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz confirmed the series of interceptions.
