Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski stated that a fire at a Starlink satellite communications ground station in central Poland on Wednesday evening was an act of sabotage likely carried out by Russia. The station provides internet connectivity for the surrounding region, including Ukraine. Gawkowski said the fire targeted the station's power supply and generator, aiming to disable the facility and cut off internet access for various institutions, including the Ukrainian military. He noted that the system has since been restored. Poland has been on high alert for sabotage since the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022, a charge Russia has repeatedly denied. Gawkowski characterized the incident as part of a 'hybrid war,' echoing recent comments by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Warsaw, September 24 — Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski has confirmed that a fire broke out on Wednesday evening at a Starlink satellite communication ground station in central Poland, which provides internet connectivity to the surrounding region, including Ukraine.
According to Gawkowski, the affected systems have since been restored to full operation.
Since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022, Poland has maintained a heightened state of alert regarding potential acts of sabotage. Russia has repeatedly denied involvement in any such activities.
Gawkowski stated:
"The fire affected the power station and generators. It is clear that this act of sabotage was intended to disable the station, cut off internet access, and prevent various institutions—including the Ukrainian military—from going online."
He added:
"Although everything is back in operation today, we must recognize that, as Prime Minister [Donald] Tusk recently pointed out, this is part of a hybrid war."
