PoliticsVoteVets, a non-profit and political action group supporting Democrat veteran candidates, launched a 10-day billboard campaign on August 24, 2026, in 10 U.S. cities near military installations. Over 1,000 digital billboards feature photos of President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth with the message: 'Trump & Hegseth’s Iran War means higher prices for you with no end in sight.' The campaign aims to link the ongoing Iran conflict, which began with Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28, 2026, to rising consumer costs, including gas and groceries. Retired Army Maj. Gen. Paul Eaton, a senior adviser to VoteVets, stated the effort connects 'affordability with accountability.' The conflict has disrupted the Strait of Hormuz, affecting global oil prices. The billboards also highlight the national debt surpassing $40 trillion. The campaign runs until September 2 in cities including Dayton, Ohio; Fayetteville, North Carolina; and San Antonio, Texas.
