Ukraine expands deep strikes to target Russian retail giant Wildberries warehouses

Ukraine has broadened its long-range strike campaign to include warehouses of Russian retail giant Wildberries, according to a Western official. The strikes, which began on July 18, hit facilities in Elektrostal, Tambov, Krasnodar, St Petersburg, and Simferopol in occupied Crimea. By July 23, roughly 10% of Wildberries' logistics hubs were damaged, with at least nine workers killed, including Central Asian migrants. The official noted the strikes have political impact, bringing the war home to average Russians, and economic impact, as Wildberries accounts for nearly half of Russia's online retail market. President Zelensky justified the attacks by citing Wildberries' role in supplying the Russian military with drone components and navigation equipment. The official stressed the campaign against Russia's oil system continues alongside this new target set.
