The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday (July 30, 2026) signed four memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with leading global companies to establish Global Capability Centres (GCCs), Research and Development (R&D) centres, and a manufacturing facility.
In the higher education sector, the State government signed an MoU with the University of Western Australia (UWA) to set up Tamil Nadu’s first international university campus at Velachery in Chennai.
Together, these MoUs are expected to generate 2,920 direct and indirect jobs in the State, according to an official release.

Global Capability Centres & R&D

Signing Ceremony
The MoUs were signed by the Tamil Nadu government’s Department of Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce in the presence of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, who visited the Guidance Tamil Nadu office on Anna Salai.
