Toyota Motor's global sales fell for the fifth consecutive month in June 2026, declining 1.1% year-on-year to 926,688 units. The drop was attributed to turmoil in the Middle East, particularly Iran, and weaker demand in China. While sales in North America and Japan remained solid, they were insufficient to offset the declines in these key markets. The report, published by The Business Times Singapore on July 30, 2026, highlights ongoing challenges for the Japanese automaker amid geopolitical instability and shifting market dynamics in China.
