Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has been omitted from the club's pre-season tour of Asia as he continues to recover from a foot injury sustained during his loan spell at Everton in the 2025/26 season. The 30-year-old returned to City this summer after his loan was cut short. New manager Enzo Maresca confirmed Grealish remains a City player and that he has a good relationship with him, but his injury prevents him from joining the squad for matches against Inter Milan, K-League All-Stars, and Atletico Madrid. With only one year left on his contract, former Aston Villa star Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Grealish may leave City this summer, possibly moving to another European club or returning to Everton. Grealish has made 157 appearances for City since his £100m transfer from Aston Villa, winning three Premier League titles and a Champions League.

Jack Grealish has been left out of Manchester City's pre-season tour of Asia as he continues his recovery from a long-term injury.
The 30-year-old winger returned to the Etihad Stadium this summer following a loan spell at Premier League rivals Everton. Grealish spent the entire 2025/26 campaign with the Toffees, but his contributions were limited after he picked up a foot injury.
While Grealish will be eager to impress new City boss Enzo Maresca, he will not have that opportunity for the time being. His foot injury has been cited as the key reason for his omission from the squad.
City are set to face Inter Milan in Hong Kong, followed by matches against the K-League All-Stars and Atletico Madrid in South Korea. Grealish has just one year remaining on his contract with the club.
Maresca on Grealish's Future
Speaking last week, new City manager Enzo Maresca said of Grealish:
"At the moment, he's here. He's a Man City player. I always said the same. In any club I join, I like to know if there are players that belong to the club.
>
"It's my duty to try to coach them. Jack is here. I have a good relation with Jack since I left. Also, we keep in touch, and the reason why is because he has a big heart and he's a very good guy. So this is the reason why. And then we see what happens."
Grealish's City Record
Since his £100 million move from boyhood club Aston Villa, Grealish has made 157 appearances for City in all competitions, scoring 17 goals. During that time, he has contributed to:
- Three Premier League titles
- One Champions League success
Transfer Speculation
Former Aston Villa star Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Grealish for a move abroad should he leave City this summer.
"It will be interesting to see what happens with Jack, if he's given a chance by Maresca. He would have been part of that Man City squad that Maresca was at (as assistant). Or, will the manager think, 'No', and will Jack think, 'Do you know what? Maybe I want to move on'.
>
"I think it's still early doors, I think we have to see what happens over the next six weeks, there's still six weeks left of the transfer window… I don't see him staying there, I see him moving on.
>
"It wouldn't surprise me if he moves somewhere else in Europe, I don't see him staying in the Premier League. I think he's still got one year left on his contract, the wages as well, will that be a problem for some clubs maybe in the Premier League? But don't rule out maybe going back to Everton, David Moyes loved him."
