TechSamsung Electronics shares rose 6.76% after the company announced the creation of a new robotics division called RX (Robotics eXperience), consolidating its robotics capabilities under direct oversight of CEO TM Roh. The move underscores Samsung's strategic push into physical AI, following a 60 trillion won ($40.7 billion) investment plan for the Yeongnam region, including 19 trillion won for humanoid robot manufacturing facilities in Gumi in partnership with Samsung SDS. Samsung also increased its stake in Rainbow Robotics to become the largest shareholder in late 2024. The new unit aims to establish research bases in the United States, China, and Japan to drive mid- to long-term commercialization of robotics technology.
