Wall Street adapts to Fed's new communication era with AI tools like 'WarshGPT'
Investment firms are preparing for a new era of reduced public commentary from the Federal Reserve under Chairman Kevin Warsh, who has overhauled the central bank's forward-looking communication since taking office in May 2026. F/m Investments launched 'WarshGPT,' an AI-powered tool analyzing nearly 1,800 documents from Warsh to predict his economic and monetary policy views. The Fed's June meeting statement was shortened to about 130 words, excluding forward guidance, and Warsh's first press conference allocated only 5% of sentences to policy topics versus 27% under predecessor Jerome Powell. Investors are turning to AI and other methods to decode the Fed's thinking, reminiscent of the Alan Greenspan era when even simple greetings could move markets. The shift marks a significant change from the more transparent communication style of recent years.
