VivoSim Reports First Commercial Sales in China for NAMkind Testing Services
VivoSim (NASDAQ:VIVS) announced its first commercial sales in mainland China through two paid testing programs secured by its local distributor, Tekon. The engagements involve a Shanghai-based oncology biotech firm and a pharmaceutical company in Chengdu, covering gastrointestinal toxicology screening and efficacy profiling for drug candidates in oncology and other disease areas. Management estimates the addressable Chinese market for liver and gastrointestinal in vitro models and toxicology services at approximately $2 billion, with projected annual growth of around 10%. The company's entry into China expands its commercial footprint beyond the U.S. and Europe, aligning with industry trends favoring New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) and increasing regulatory support for non-animal testing. Investors will watch for additional contracts in China and the Asia-Pacific region, as well as growth in contracted revenue and broader adoption of the NAMkind platform.
