Suspected Antisemitic Attack in Würzburg: Man Beaten for Wearing Israel Pin
A 65-year-old man was brutally beaten in Würzburg, Bavaria, in a suspected antisemitic attack. The victim, a member of the German-Israeli Society, was wearing a pin with the Israeli flag when a 20-year-old Syrian suspect allegedly punched him in the face and kicked him in the head after a verbal altercation. The victim suffered serious injuries, including a broken vertebra, and was initially in intensive care. Police arrested the suspect at the scene, who was already known as a violent offender. The Munich Public Prosecutor General's Office is investigating on suspicion of attempted murder with a possible anti-Israel or antisemitic motive. The attack drew condemnation from officials including the head of Bavaria's RIAS reporting center, who cited 'antisemitic disinhibition,' and politicians from the Green and Left parties.
