Russia seeks 30,000 North Korean troops and rocket launchers, Zelenskyy says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Russia has requested an additional 30,000 soldiers from North Korea for its war against Ukraine, with preparations for their reception underway in Russia's Voronezh region since June. Zelenskyy also stated that North Korea is preparing to deliver more rocket launchers. He warned that this cooperation not only threatens Ukraine but also helps North Korea gain combat experience and improve its weapons, posing a risk to Asia. The report follows a visit by North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui to Moscow, where she reaffirmed Pyongyang's unwavering support for Russia. Pyongyang has been a key ally, providing thousands of troops and weapons in exchange for financial aid, military technology, and energy supplies. South Korean reports estimate 2,000 North Korean soldiers have been killed in the fighting.
