Prague’s Zerops Raises €1.7 Million Seed Round to Expand Cloud Infrastructure
Zerops, a Prague-based platform-as-a-service startup, has secured €1.7 million ($2 million) in a Seed funding round led by Gi21 Capital. The company aims to bridge the gap between development and production environments in cloud architecture, addressing a common source of deployment failures. The newly raised capital will facilitate global expansion, specifically targeting North America and Asia. Key initiatives include scaling infrastructure in the United States and establishing a new data center in Singapore. Additionally, funds will accelerate product development and team growth. Founded in 2021 as a spin-off from vshosting.eu, Zerops offers a unified environment where applications behave identically from development to production, utilizing full Linux containers for greater control and visibility. The platform supports over 15 built-in services, reducing reliance on external integrations. Co-founder Aleš Rechtorík emphasizes that their architecture ensures code produced by AI agents is production-ready from the first deployment. This funding comes as the market faces rising cloud costs and an increasing integration of AI in software development, with Zerops positioning itself to support the shift towards AI-assisted coding workflows.
