Pentagon identifies third American soldier killed in Iranian attack in Jordan
The Pentagon has identified Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York, as the third active-duty U.S. soldier killed in an Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan. Rampersad was initially listed as missing after the July 17-18 attack, but his remains were found and his status was updated to 'believed to be deceased.' He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, based in Ansbach, Germany. The other two soldiers killed were Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, and 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25. The attack brings the total U.S. troop deaths in the war with Iran to 18, with over 400 wounded since the campaign began on Feb. 28. The incident remains under investigation.
