Navy Official Suspended After Calling Trump a 'Narcissist' in Hidden-Camera Video
Brandon Newsom, the director of business operations for the U.S. Navy, has been placed on administrative leave after being secretly filmed by right-wing activist James O'Keefe of Project Veritas. In the video, Newsom called President Donald Trump a 'textbook narcissist,' described the Iran war as 'completely stupid' and 'driven by one man's ego,' and criticized monthly Christian prayer services started by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth as a potential First Amendment violation. Newsom also expressed hope to 'stay and stick it out' at the Pentagon to 'undo whatever's been done' by the Trump administration. Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao announced the suspension, stating that such statements are 'inappropriate and incompatible' with Department of Defense standards.
