Maruti Suzuki tops India's EV exports in Q1 FY27 with 97% market share
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has emerged as India's top electric vehicle (EV) exporter in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (April-June 2026), shipping 15,210 units of its e Vitara model. This accounts for a dominant 97% share of the country's total EV exports, which stood at 15,641 units during the period. Since the e Vitara's launch in August 2025, Maruti has exported over 41,000 units to 47 countries, with the UK, Germany, Japan, Norway, and Switzerland as leading destinations. The company's Senior Executive Officer, Rahul Bharti, highlighted the achievement as a symbol of high-tech Indian manufacturing on the global stage. Maruti is taking a calibrated approach to expanding its EV presence in the domestic market, aligning with the growth of charging infrastructure.
