J.League and Pokémon Announce Collaboration Across All 60 Clubs
The Japan J.League has announced a collaboration with the globally renowned anime IP Pokémon, themed 'Evolution! The J.League is Evolving!'. The event will involve all 60 professional clubs in Japan, aiming to warm up for the new J.League season. Plans include selling original IP merchandise such as team-specific Pikachu T-shirts, keychains, and scarves, opening pop-up stores, and hosting special performances at football stadiums. Starting in August, merchandise will be available on the J.League official online store and at club stadium shops. Pokémon-themed photo spots will be set up in stadiums. On the Pokémon side, the mobile game Pokémon GO will incorporate football elements, offering players a chance to obtain rare Pokémon like Fire Spin. Pokémon, created in 1996, is celebrating its 30th anniversary and is one of the most influential cross-media IPs globally.
