BitFuFu Reports April 2026 Bitcoin Production Decline Amid Operational Headwinds
BitFuFu Inc. announced its unaudited operational metrics for April 2026, revealing a decrease in Bitcoin production to 145 BTC, down from 214 BTC in March. The company attributed this decline to two primary factors: an unexpected power outage at its Ethiopia facility and a strategic reduction in third-party hashrate procurement to preserve profit margins amidst challenging market conditions. Despite the drop in total output, BitFuFu’s self-owned hashrate remained stable at 3.3 EH/s, with an average cash-based self-mining cost of approximately $59,000 per BTC. The company’s total managed hashrate fell by 13.5% to 22.4 EH/s, while power capacity decreased to 404 MW. Notably, BitFuFu increased its Bitcoin holdings to 1,812 BTC, demonstrating continued confidence in the asset as a long-term store of value. CEO Leo Lu emphasized that the operational adjustments reflect disciplined decision-making rather than structural weakness. With power conditions in Ethiopia improving since early May, the company expects to scale operations when risk-reward thresholds are met, maintaining a focus on profitability over aggressive growth.
