BitFuFu Reports April 2026 Bitcoin Production Decline Amid Operational Headwinds
BitFuFu Inc. announced its unaudited operational metrics for April 2026, revealing a significant decrease in Bitcoin production and total hashrate. The company produced 145 BTC, down from 214 BTC in March, primarily due to an unexpected power outage at its Ethiopia facility and a strategic reduction in third-party hashrate procurement. CEO Leo Lu emphasized that the decline in third-party contracts was a deliberate move to preserve profitability amid challenging Bitcoin price conditions, rather than a structural weakness. Despite the production drop, BitFuFu maintained its self-owned hashrate at 3.3 EH/s and increased its Bitcoin holdings to 1,812 BTC, demonstrating continued confidence in the asset's long-term value. Total hashrate under management fell 13.5% to 22.4 EH/s, while power capacity decreased to 404 MW. The company reported that power conditions in Ethiopia improved by early May, positioning BitFuFu to scale operations when market conditions align with their return thresholds. This update highlights the firm's focus on disciplined financial management and operational resilience in the volatile cryptocurrency mining sector.
