On September 24, BYD inaugurated its 2,000th flash charging highway station at the Baoying service area on the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, completing its annual construction target ahead of schedule. The station serves as a key charging hub on the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, marking full coverage of flash charging stations along that route. BYD has now built 11,586 flash charging stations across 341 cities in China, covering 278 national, provincial, and metropolitan expressways, with full coverage on 22 major expressway trunk lines. The company's flash charging technology claims to provide a charging experience of '5 minutes to full charge, 9 minutes to full charge, and only 3 minutes more at minus 30°C.' The second-generation Blade battery has passed rigorous safety tests, including a bottom impact test ten times stricter than the national standard and thermal diffusion verification four times the national standard. BYD has upgraded the battery warranty policy to include lifetime warranty for the battery cells and a 2.5% improvement in capacity retention rate. BYD plans to build 20,000 flash charging stations nationwide by the end of 2026 and is also advancing a global expansion with a target of 6,000 overseas flash charging stations.
