In ethnic minority regions, the ministry will release 5,100 tons of central reserve frozen beef and mutton to boost holiday meat supply. According to ministry data from September 14-20, inventories of meat, eggs, vegetables, and milk in large supermarkets increased by 3% to 8% compared to early September. September 24 — The Ministry of Commerce has announced that it will activate a daily monitoring system during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday period to closely track the supply and demand of essential goods and ensure stable market operations.
In a recent video conference, the Ministry instructed local commerce authorities to strengthen the supply of daily necessities. Key suppliers have been directed to enhance production-sales coordination, expand sourcing channels, and increase stockpiles of popular seasonal items such as fresh produce and mooncakes to meet diverse consumer demand.
Given the concentrated consumption and increased tourist flows in major cities and popular travel destinations, relevant local authorities have been urged to secure supply sources in advance and prepare for on-demand distribution. In coordination with relevant departments, the Ministry has also arranged the release of 5,100 tonnes of central reserve frozen beef and mutton in ethnic minority regions to boost the holiday meat supply.
Currently, the national supply of daily necessities is sufficient, and prices remain generally stable. According to Ministry of Commerce monitoring data from September 14 to 20, inventory levels of meat, eggs, vegetables, and milk in large supermarkets increased by 3% to 8% compared with the beginning of the month. Wholesale prices of grain, oil, and meat at major agricultural wholesale markets remained largely stable.
