September 23 – According to a report by Newsweek on September 21, the Ukrainian military has claimed the first-ever deployment of "suicide ground robots" air-dropped behind Russian front lines during an operation in northern Donetsk.
Citing Ukraine's National News Agency, the report states that the Ukrainian 3rd Army Corps announced on the social media platform Telegram on September 20 that the corps had conducted a flanking maneuver, deploying ground robots "for the first time in the world" behind Russian positions, while also "blinding" Russian drones.
The statement read: "Infantry wins wars, and we protect the infantry. That is why robots are the first to charge at the enemy. Air defense and electronic warfare 'blind' enemy drones, preventing them from detecting the attack plan."
