China's FM: Japan's introduction of Typhon missile system accelerates its 'remilitarization'

September 21 — At a regular press briefing on September 21, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun responded to a reporter's question regarding Japan's deployment of the U.S. "Typhon" medium-range missile system in Kyushu.

The reporter noted that a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson had stated on September 18 that Russia had formally notified Japan of its opposition to the deployment, describing it as unacceptable and urging Japan to fully recognize the outcomes of World War II and halt its "remilitarization." The reporter also asked whether China had similarly conveyed its concerns to Japan and requested confirmation and further details.

In response, Guo Jiakun stated:
