Hardware
On the hardware side, leveraging Shangwei New Materials' long-standing expertise in materials R&D and manufacturing, Qiyuan Robotics applies lightweight, high-rigidity composite materials to its robotic products. The company has also developed its own QDD quasi-direct drive joints. According to the company, these joints feature a highly integrated design with a volume roughly the size of an egg, balancing precision and compliant control within a compact form factor. This provides the hardware foundation for lightweight design and safe interaction in small humanoid robots.
AI Models
On the AI model side, Qiyuan Robotics unveiled three core models:
- PrimeMotion (Compliant and Safe Motion Control Model): Focuses on ensuring stability, compliance, and safety during robot movement.
- PrimeGo (Multimodal Perception and Following Model): Supports environmental understanding and following control in both humanoid and quadruped robot forms.
- PrimeVista (Multimodal Interaction Model): Enables more natural communication between users and robots through multimodal interaction methods such as vision and voice.
In addition, Qiyuan Robotics plans to continue investing in robot AI R&D and advancing a robot agent based on the Harness architecture. This will further integrate environmental perception, language understanding, and task execution, enabling robots to evolve from "understanding commands" to "understanding tasks and completing them autonomously." The company's Qiyuan Research Institute is also advancing the deployment of PrimeMind, a home-task-oriented foundational model designed for household scenarios.
R&D Investment
At the launch event, Qiyuan Robotics disclosed that it plans to invest 500 million RMB in R&D in 2026, continuing full-stack development in areas including robot hardware, motion control, multimodal interaction, and intelligent agents.
Mass Production
Moving from "making it" to "delivering it," mass production capability has become a critical step for personal robots entering the consumer market.
At the event, Qiyuan Robotics also shared mass production details: the company has adopted automotive industry manufacturing rhythms and quality management methods. It can produce one robot every 2.5 minutes, with all assembly data traceable over the long term, ensuring product delivery through an industrial-grade manufacturing system.
