The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) reported that approximately 7,000 humanoid robots were sold globally in 2024 for industrial and professional service use. Current Applications
Bieller stated that many of the humanoid robots sold in 2025 were not deployed for productive work. Instead, they were purchased by research institutions or companies to generate data for improving artificial intelligence (AI) models.
Bieller also highlighted that automotive manufacturers, as key early adopters, are conducting pilot projects in their factories. The number of robots deployed in these initiatives typically ranges from single digits to, in some cases, double digits.
Future Projections
Bank of America Global Research estimates that humanoid robot shipments will reach 90,000 units this year and 1.2 million units by 2030.
