On September 19, Cailian Press reported that the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) has launched a special campaign titled 'Qinglang (Clear and Bright): Optimizing the Online Business Environment and Rectifying Malicious Hype of Enterprise-Related Information.' The campaign targets malicious defamation or smearing of enterprises, compiling and hyping negative information about companies, and exploiting the guise of supervision to seek illegal profits. It also addresses 'involution-style' competition among enterprises, imposing strict penalties on accounts spreading false enterprise-related information and inciting conflicts between consumer groups. During the campaign, cyberspace administration departments and major commercial websites and platforms have removed over 1.56 million pieces of infringing enterprise-related information and dealt with more than 26,000 accounts in violation of laws and regulations. This is the second batch of typical cases released by the CAC as part of the crackdown.
