Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre revealed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's plane was nearly struck by a drone while traveling from Moldova to Oslo on Tuesday evening to attend the funeral of King Harald V. Støre described the incident as a 'dramatic situation' and noted that Zelenskyy had not slept well afterward, having spent the night receiving news of missile strikes in Ukraine. The US think tank Institute for the Study of War reported that a Russian Shahed drone flew through Moldovan and Romanian airspace for about an hour before crashing in Moldova, though it remains unclear if this was the same drone. Ukrainian authorities and Zelenskyy have not commented on the incident.

Oslo — Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has described an incident that could have been fatal for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy: while en route to Oslo, his plane was nearly struck by a drone.
According to Støre, the incident occurred as Zelenskyy traveled from Moldova to the Norwegian capital early Tuesday evening to attend the funeral ceremonies for the late King Harald V.
"That is the reality he lives in," Støre said, according to broadcaster NRK.
Ukrainian authorities and Zelenskyy himself have not yet commented on the incident, and Støre reportedly provided no further details. During a meeting on Wednesday morning, Zelenskyy told Støre that he had not slept well, describing it as a "dramatic situation." The Ukrainian president had sat by the phone receiving news of missile strikes in his home country.

Drone Activity in the Region
According to the U.S. think tank Institute for the Study of War (ISW), a Russian drone flew through Moldovan and Romanian airspace for approximately one hour on Tuesday. Defense ministries in Moldova and Romania reported, per ISW, that a Shahed drone entered Moldovan airspace from Ukraine, continued into Romania, and finally returned to Moldova before crashing there.
It remains unclear whether this was the same drone mentioned by Støre.
