U.S. Vice President JD Vance announced on Thursday that the United States is investigating an airstrike that Iran says struck a wedding party in Iran, resulting in multiple casualties. During a White House press briefing, Vance stated, 'We're investigating it because obviously we care. We want to know.' He contrasted U.S. military accountability with Iran's, saying, 'If we do make mistakes... when our military makes mistakes, they learn from them.' Iranian officials reported that four people died and nearly 70 were wounded when a strike hit a home during a wedding. Iranian state TV later reported a fifth death, a 22-year-old woman, at a hospital. The U.S. military acknowledged the Iranian reports but asserted that it 'never targets civilians.' The incident raises tensions between the two nations, with the U.S. probing the claims while maintaining its operational standards.
