TechA 113GB ISO file purporting to be a leaked build of Grand Theft Auto VI is circulating on torrent sites, but security researchers have determined it is a fake. The file is padded with 99.99% empty zeroes and contains only a 50KB virus. The malware attempts to whitelist the C: drive in Windows Defender and kill security software. The fake leak exploits the massive hype surrounding GTA VI, which has been the subject of ongoing leaks by a user named Cyberleek. Rockstar Games is set to release an extended look at the game on Netflix on August 27, with the full game scheduled for November. Take-Two Interactive is investigating the leaks and has requested device IDs from Discord servers to identify the leaker. Tom's Hardware warns users not to download the fake file and advises waiting for the official release.
