US Army battalion offers 4-day pass to play GTA VI for soldiers who reenlist

The 9th Brigade Engineer Battalion at Fort Stewart, Georgia, is offering soldiers a four-day pass to coincide with the release of Grand Theft Auto VI if they reenlist between August 1 and November 14, 2026. The incentive, approved by battalion commander Lt. Col. Ryan Hodgson, aims to boost reenlistment rates among younger soldiers. As of Monday, 20 of 130 eligible soldiers had signed up for two to six more years of service. The offer highlights creative approaches local commanders use to meet retention goals, alongside standard bonuses and training opportunities. The game, developed by Rockstar Games, releases on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox.
