PoliticsThe Chemnitz District Court has issued an arrest warrant against AfD member of the Bundestag Maximilian Krah for failing to fully pay legal costs from a previous lawsuit against ZDF satirist Jan Böhmermann. Krah had sued Böhmermann over a podcast claim that Krah ordered 200 bottles of champagne at Oktoberfest, but lost the case after Böhmermann corrected the number to 'around 50' bottles. Krah was ordered to pay legal costs but reportedly left 296.26 euros unpaid after Böhmermann collected about 5,000 euros through enforcement. Krah, a trained lawyer, failed to appear for a scheduled declaration of assets in mid-July. This is not Krah's first legal trouble; in spring 2025, he faced investigation for bribery and money laundering, and a former employee was convicted of spying for China.
