FinanceSK Hynix has committed $38.3 billion to build two new semiconductor fabs in South Korea, with the investment heavily tied to supplying high-bandwidth memory for Nvidia's AI chips. The board approved $35.2 trillion won for a DRAM fab in Yongin and $19.1 trillion won for a NAND plant in Cheongju. Construction begins in 2027, with first cleanrooms opening in 2028-2029. The company reported record Q2 revenue of 79.3 trillion won but shares fell due to missed analyst expectations.
