Pentagon approves Salesforce AI agents for sensitive military admin tasks

Salesforce announced that the U.S. Defense Department and Army Human Resources Command have approved its autonomous AI agents, part of the Missionforce National Security platform, for missions involving sensitive unclassified information. The platform received Impact Level 5 (IL5) authorization, allowing it to handle controlled unclassified information and National Security System data. The AI agents will automate routine administrative tasks, such as responding to inquiries and summarizing case histories, for the Army HRC, which handles over 1,500 personnel cases daily. Salesforce estimates the system could save $6 million annually while managing over 55 million conversations per month. The deployment follows Salesforce's $5.6 billion contract to build Missionforce in January 2026 and a previous Air Force deployment in July 2026.
