FinanceJeff Bezos filed to sell 15 million Amazon shares worth $4.07 billion, a transaction executed through a pre-arranged Rule 10b5-1 trading plan adopted on November 14, 2025, eight and a half months before the sale. The filing came a day after Amazon's stock crossed a $3 trillion market cap following strong second-quarter earnings on July 31, 2026. Despite the coincidental timing, the plan was locked in long before the earnings beat or market milestone. Bezos sold the shares through Morgan Stanley at an average price tied to the record close. Amazon's stock fell over 2% on Tuesday after the filing became public. Bezos remains a major shareholder and also donated 220,200 shares to nonprofits in May, separate from this transaction.
