Saab receives order for two GlobalEye AEW&C aircraft from Middle East customer, valued at SEK 10.1 bln

Saab has announced an order for two GlobalEye airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft from an undisclosed customer in the Middle East. The contract is valued at SEK 10.1 billion (approximately £780 million), with deliveries scheduled for 2030. Saab cited national security and defence industry considerations for not disclosing the customer's identity. The GlobalEye, based on the Bombardier Global 6000/6500 business jet, is equipped with Saab's Erieye Extended Range radar and additional sensors for multi-domain surveillance across air, maritime, and land domains. Saab CEO Micael Johansson stated the order underscores the company's commitment to providing mission-proven AEW&C capability. The United Arab Emirates is the launch customer for GlobalEye, and Sweden has also ordered the aircraft under the designation S 106. This order adds to growing international interest in airborne early warning systems for long-range surveillance and command and control.
