TechJPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon is spearheading a U.S.-focused industry group to address risks posed by artificial intelligence, expanding the existing Alliance for Critical Infrastructure (ACI). Dimon has personally reached out to CEOs of over 40 companies spanning financial services, energy, water, utilities, telecommunications, airlines, and railroads. The initiative aims to develop a shared understanding of AI usage, risks, and safeguards, and to collaborate with the Trump administration. Recent cyberattacks on water systems have heightened the need for information sharing. The ACI, founded by JPMorgan, Mastercard, and Berkshire Hathaway Energy, will serve as an industry response and information-sharing forum. The group aims to be fully functional by year-end. Dimon has previously warned about risks from advanced AI models like Anthropic's Mythos, and the effort is separate from bank-led testing of Mythos. The U.S. government also launched the Gold Eagle initiative in July to coordinate AI vulnerability information sharing.
