Pentagon launches online marketplace for counter-drone technology

The Pentagon's Joint Interagency Task Force-401 (JIATF-401) and software company Kaizen Laboratories have launched an enhanced online marketplace called the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) Marketplace. The platform allows military, federal government, and law enforcement personnel to search for and acquire validated counter-drone systems—from kinetic weapons to jammers—based on price, features, performance reviews, and specific requirements. Kaizen was awarded a $15 million contract in May to build the marketplace, which went live two weeks ago after being developed in under nine weeks. The initiative aims to bypass slow, fragmented traditional weapons acquisition processes, addressing urgent threats from drones such as Iranian Shahed drones used against US forces and in Ukraine. The marketplace features AI-generated recommendations, a library of forms, and a planning tool. Vendors like Anduril and AeroVironment have already listed products, and US allies and partners will also have access. The platform is similar to Ukraine's Brave1 Market.
