American Rheinmetall wins US Army contract for autonomous resupply UGVs under Project Sustainment

As the prime contractor, American Rheinmetall will deliver next-generation Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) that will fundamentally modernize the tactical supply operations of the armed forces.

The project focuses on providing hybrid-powered, autonomous UGVs for resupply missions at the company level. The systems independently transport supplies directly to the front lines, significantly reducing the risk to soldiers in highly contested areas and decisively increasing the operational value of the troops. The contract also includes options for follow-up orders as part of the U.S. Army's ongoing fleet modernization.

The innovation program sets new standards in the areas of AI autonomy, hybrid drives, and advanced human-machine interfaces. To optimize the interaction between troops and the system, American Rheinmetall integrates innovative functions such as intuitive voice control. Development work and system tests will be conducted at various specialized locations and test centers in the USA.
