Brazil coach Ancelotti confirms Casemiro's international retirement

Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that midfielder Casemiro will no longer play for the national team, following Brazil's round-of-16 exit at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ancelotti stated that the World Cup marked the end of the international careers of Casemiro, Neymar, and Danilo, as a new generation of players takes over. Casemiro, 34, earned 91 caps and scored 10 goals for Brazil, representing the country at three World Cups and four Copa America tournaments. His biggest international success came in 2019 when Brazil won the Copa America on home soil. Casemiro previously enjoyed a storied club career, winning five UEFA Champions League titles and three La Liga crowns with Real Madrid, before moving to Manchester United in 2022. After four seasons at Old Trafford, he was released and subsequently joined Inter Miami as a free agent. He has already made his debut for the MLS club and will now focus entirely on his club career.
