SportsInternacional de Porto Alegre defender Victor Gabriel has received an unusual suspension from Brazil's Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) following a red card tackle against Cruzeiro that fractured Gabriel Pec's left tibia. The 22-year-old is suspended for a minimum of six matches, with the suspension potentially extending until Pec returns to training, up to a maximum of 180 days. Victor Gabriel stated he never intended to injure his opponent, blaming the slippery, waterlogged pitch for his loss of control, and apologized to Pec, calling the incident 'really unfortunate.' The decision can still be appealed.
